riding it north.

Morning, chickadees!

I hope everyone’s gearing up for a nice, long weekend off (or at least a little relief tomorrow) to celebrate our nation’s independence.

And also BBQs.

And fireworks.

And all of that good stuff.

KB, JD, and I are starting the weekend out with (another) trip to Ravinia, this time to check out some of our 90s favorites, the Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20.

I’ve already met the Goo Goo Dolls, so they’re obviously old friends.

Or something like that.

Up the rest of the weekend: making/eating flag cake, living only one more weekend in a condo that has no bedroom furniture, trying to use everything we just received in a borrowed CSA box (greens, anyone?), and visiting our pals and their brand new baby on a journey to the South Side of Chicago.

I haven’t seen her since she was born in May, so I’m fairly certain I have a lot of time to make up for.

And with that, I’m off for one shortened day in the office, an attempt to buy snacks to tide us over at the concert, and a beautiful train ride north to the park.

I’m ready for this one, chickadees. Enjoy it out there!
